Michelle Butterworth PRRT Fundraiser

Michelle has fought for seven long years, Metastatic pheochromocytoma is a very rare form of cancer. That is the fight that we are looking to win. In October 2023 Michelle learnt that it was a choice between a sternotomy or systemic medication, this was not a choice she could make as the cancer had spread that much the decision made for her, to apply for Nuclear Medication (PRRT). The specialist had to request funding for the treatment, this process/application began In October 2023. After sixteen weeks of waiting, two trips to Arrow Park Hospital as the GP couldn’t help with the pain, her youngest child’s birthday nearly being spoilt because of it and unable to enjoy Christmas with the thought of what if hanging over the whole family. Today, because of the second visit to the hospital which brought forward the need for a decision to be made. She has been declined the funding for the only hope she had to further her life as the criteria has not been met. How this was not met, is still to be explained. She could have years with the PRRT or months with Chemotherapy.

This is why we are helping her.

We hope along with others to gather the funds to pay for the treatment to give Michelle years rather than months with her children and grandchildren.

Michelle needs to raise £55,000 for the experimental treatment!
